Field Configuration Tips for Virtual Capture Screens

During the virtual application process, specific behavior may occur for certain fields configured to appear in a panel on a screen. Reference the information below for field tips to consider when entering information in a Virtual Capture screen:

If the auto-complete setting is enabled for an applicant's browser, Virtual Capture ignores the setting, and automatically sets auto-complete to false for each field in the application, to ensure the browser does not remember the data entered in Virtual Capture.

Browsers such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Firefox and Chrome all implement the auto-complete setting differently. Virtual Capture cannot control all instances of this behavior; therefore, though auto-complete is disabled for all information sent to Virtual Capture, certain information may still pre-populate for fields in the application due to the setting for the browser. It is highly recommended that institutions encourage their applicants to clear form data, and not allow auto-complete for their preferred browser to ensure the safety of their information.

Fields within a panel may be configured to include a tooltip that provides a description of the field or simple instructions. When a tooltip is configured for a field, a

When a value is entered in a Date field without slashes, the date updates to include the slashes upon clicking outside the field, but the calendar is not updated, and continues to reflect the current date. If the date is entered with slashes, the calendar automatically adjusts to reflect the entered date.
Date fields must include a four digit year. If an applicant enters a two digit year for a Date field in a virtual application, a Validation message is received to inform the applicant that a valid date with a four digit year must be entered for the field.
The values that populate for the County field are filtered according to the State selected for an address. If a State is not selected for an address, the County field appears blank in the Virtual Capture screen, and only a value of N/A is listed within the drop-down list.

When configured to appear in an Application screen for Virtual Capture, the Application > Requested Term field provides applicants with the ability to define a custom term value (in months) for the loan, which can then be populated in the Application > Term, or Application > Balloon Term field. If the Payment Type for a loan is Balloon, the value set within the Requested Term field automatically populates within the Application > Balloon Term field. If the Payment Type is not Balloon, the value set for Requested Term populates within the Application > Term field.

The value for Requested Term automatically populates within the Application > Balloon Term or Application > Term field as soon as the value is entered within the field, unless the fields are on separate screens. If the Requested Term field is on a different screen than Balloon Term or Term, the value populates as part of the save process.
